Send a letter to Secretary Betsy DeVos

Send letters to Betsy DeVos urging the Dept of Education to institute a clear policy on Title IX and female athletics that states unequivocally school athletic programs for women and girls are for female athletes only and that to be in compliance with Title IX, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex,  biological males cannot participate in sex-specific sports for women and girls.

We encourage you to personalize your letter with  "I am an athlete /mother of an athlete/radical feminist/women’s rights defender (etc)"

Dear Secretary DeVos,

Female athletes are being denied their rights to equal opportunities and benefits on the basis of sex as required by Title IX.  Your Department made this clear in ruling that the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference policy allowing male athletes identifying as girls to compete in girls’ sports violates the civil rights of female athletes.   Now it is time to take decisive action to ensure consistency, equality, and fair play in every athletics department in every educational institution across the country.

I am asking you to bring nationwide clarity to all schools on Title IX and female athletics that is unequivocal:   To be in compliance with Title IX which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, school athletic programs for women and girls must be for female athletes only.  Sex-specific athletic programs must separate athletic participation and competition for female athletes on the basis of biological sex.  Males cannot compete in women’s sports designated for female athletes.

The current lack of decisive guidance to all schools from this Administration continues to send a message of confusion and complacency, and has enabled the NCAA to continue its harmful, inequitable, medically-unsubstantiated policy that is forcing college female college athletes to compete against biological male athletes in women’s sports.  The NCAA Board of Governors meets again in October to review its transgender inclusion policy, which activists believe is too stringent for trans-identifying males, and to consider retaliatory action against the state of Idaho for its Fairness in Women’s Sports Act.

Secretary DeVos, your leadership to end this discriminatory practice allowing “gender identity” to overrule biological sex, which is sidelining female athletes in schools, districts, colleges, universities, and professional women’s sports, is needed NOW.

Respectfully,

Secretary Betsy DeVos

The Honorable Betsy DeVos
